Premiering at the Workhouse Arts Center!

The Class Act Players are proud to present “(I Hate) Modern Art,” an evening of one act plays about art! Featuring two new works by company playwrights Sarah Marksteiner and Alex Bulova, “(I Hate) Modern Art” asks what is art, who gets to make it, and why that matters. Join us for a provocative and hilarious evening that will challenge the way you interact with art.

“I Hate Art” by Sarah Marksteiner uses the life of Isabella Stewart Gardner to explore the relationship between the female body and art in both the 19th and 21st century. Directed by Sarah Marksteiner and Alex Poirier

“Modern Art” by Alex Bulova follows a controversial performance artist who sets her sight on destroying a $26 million Jackson Pollock painting – to unexpected results. Directed by Alex Bulova
